UPSL MATCH WEEK 5 REPORT

Arlington comes out on top in the Virginia derby with a 2-1 victory against the Alexandria Reds. Giuseppe Meli opened the scoring in the 31st minute after defender Natnael Endale played a beautiful ball over the top of the opposing back line, which Meli smashed home on the half volley! Our second goal of the evening came when midfielder Chris Barnard sent in a corner kick to the back post that found forward Duncan Dunkwu’s head. The ball hit the crossbar, and Peter Mattocks smashed it home!

This result sees our team sit at the top of the DMV South A table with a 5-0-0 record, 22 goals for and 3 against. Our next match takes us to Falls Church to face second-place Virginia Dream on Sunday, May 11th at 8 PM! We look forward to seeing you there!
