WPSL UPDATE | ARLINGTON RED

Our Arlington Red side is off to a great start in WPSL Atlantic Conference - District Division play! After 4 matches played, Arlington Red sits 2nd in the table behind McLean Soccer with a record of 2 WINS, 1 DRAW, & 1 LOSS.

MATCH 1 - Arlington Red (2) - Arlington Blue (1) | A very competitive match saw Arlington Red earn a result in the season opener. Mary Za opened the scoring in the 2nd minute to get in front early! Arlington Blue brought the score level in the 46th minute after a Bella Johnson goal. The game winner was scored by Jenn McGuire in the 78th minute!

MATCH 2 - Arlington Red (1) - UKFC (1) | After a long trip to Richmond, VA a late Addi Verdon goal in the 86th minute helped secure a hard fought point on the road.

MATCH 3 - Arlington Red (2) - Alexandria Reds (1) | Thankfully after a rainy day, the weather cleared up for the match against Alexandria. Kendall Frederick opened the scoring after a beautiful through ball saw her chip the keeper. Alexandria would tie things. Jenn McGuire scored another game winner in the 78th minute after shot from distance!

MATCH 4 - Arlington Red (3) - Arlington Blue (5) | WHAT A REMATCH! Arlington Blue was victorious on the day. Abby Welker, Jenn McGuire, and Mary Za scored for Red.

UP NEXT | On June 7th we will host UKFC for our second meeting of the regular season. The match will take place at Raventek Park in Loudon, VA. Kickoff is set for 3:30PM. We look forward to seeing you out there!
