UPSL week 2 match report
Our UPSL team experienced a challenging start on Saturday evening against Blazers FC, trailing 1-0 at halftime. However, the players regrouped and returned to the field in the second half with renewed energy and determination. Forward Giuseppe Meli assisted Peter Mattocks with a cross inside the six-yard box, allowing Mattocks to score and equalize the match. In the 67th minute, Malik Thom earned a penalty kick, which Martin Ngoh successfully converted for our second goal. Shortly after, in the 71st minute, Thom intercepted the ball from a Blazers defender, dribbled past their goalkeeper, and scored. Thom continued to contribute by delivering a low cross to midfielder Maculey Nwulu, who then struck the ball into the far post, bringing the score to 4-1. This result sees our UPSL side move to 2nd in the DMV South A table with 6 points through 2 weeks.
The UPSL side will travel to Justice High School this Saturday April 19th for a 5PM kickoff to take on Villarreal CF VA who currently sit 8th in the table with a record of 0-0-2. We look forward to seeing you out there!
